1. Dua Before Sleeping
Arabic:
اللّهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا

Allāhumma bismika amūtu wa aḥyā
Meaning:
O Allah, in Your name, I die and I live.
2. Dua Upon Waking Up
Arabic:
الحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
Transliteration:
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī aḥyānā ba‘da mā amātanā wa ilayhi an-nushūr
Meaning:
All praise is for Allah who gave us life after causing us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.
3. Morning and Evening Zikr
- Subḥān Allāh (سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ) – Glory be to Allah
- Al-ḥamdu lillāh (الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ) – Praise be to Allah
- Allāhu Akbar (اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ) – Allah is the Greatest
Recommended Count: 33 times each after Salah (prayer) and anytime during the day or night.
4. Ayat-ul-Kursi (Verse of the Throne) – For Protection
Arabic:
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ … وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ
(Al-Baqarah 2:255)
Transliteration:
Allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa al-ḥayyu al-qayyūm… wa huwa al-‘aliyyu al-‘aẓīm

Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence… and He is the Most High, the Most Great.
5. Dua for Forgiveness
Arabic:
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
Transliteration:
Astaghfirullāha wa atūbu ilayh
Meaning:
I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him.
6. Tasbih Fatimah Before Sleeping
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) recommended saying the following before sleep:
- Subḥān Allāh (سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ) – 33 times
- Al-ḥamdu lillāh (الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ) – 33 times
- Allāhu Akbar (اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ) – 34 times
7. Dua for Peaceful Sleep
Arabic:
اللّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي وَطَهِّرْ قَلْبِي وَفَرِّجْ هَمِّي
Transliteration:
Allāhumma aghfir lī dhanbī wa ṭahhir qalbī wa farrij hammī
Meaning:
O Allah, forgive my sins, purify my heart, and relieve my worries.
8. Short Zikr Anytime
- Lā ilāha illā Allāh (لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ) – There is no deity but Allah.
- Subḥān Allāhi wa biḥamdih, Subḥān Allāhil-‘Aẓīm (سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ) – Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, Glory be to Allah the Great.
