(…and it continues until verse 96.)
English Translation:
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
- When the Inevitable Event befalls,
- there is no denying its happening –
- bringing some low, raising others high –
- when the earth will be shaken with a violent shake,
- and the mountains will be crushed to powder,
- becoming scattered particles,
- and you will become three categories:
- those on the Right – how blessed will they be!
- those on the Left – how miserable will they be!
- and the foremost will be the foremost.
- They are the ones brought nearest [to Allah],
- in Gardens of Bliss –
- a multitude from the earlier generations
- and a few from the later generations –
- on jeweled thrones,
- reclining on them, facing each other.
- They will be waited on by eternal youths
- with cups, pitchers, and a drink of pure wine
- that will cause neither headache nor intoxication.
- And [they will have] fruit of their choice
- and meat from any bird they desire.
- And fair maidens with big, beautiful eyes,
- like pearls kept hidden,
- as a reward for what they used to do.
(…and it continues until verse 96.)
